Wes Welker is back with the Denver Broncos.

The slot receiver extraordinaire saw his four-game drug suspension cut short when the NFL announced major changes to its drug policy. Welker has officially been reinstated and is eligible to appear in Denver’s Week 3 contest against the Seattle Seahawks.

Welker spoke for the first time since his suspension was reversed on Wednesday, via ESPN’s Jeff Legwold.

"“It feels great, it feels great,” Welker said. ” … You really realize how much you miss it.”"

Welker was unable to practice with the Broncos during his two-game suspension, so he might be a little rusty. However, Welker said he expects to receive playing time on Sunday.

"“That’s a coach’s decision,” Welker said. ” … I’m preparing like I’m going to play.”"

Welker could not be coming back at a better time for the Broncos. Denver was smoked by the Seahawks 43-8 in this past Super Bowl, so the Broncos will need all hands on deck if they’re going to pull off the upset in this one.

Also, Denver’s offense through two games, while successful, hasn’t been the unstoppable machine it was for much of last season. Welker’s presence certainly could help the Broncos return to form sooner than later.

Welker caught 73 passes for 778 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2013.
