Although he is one of the top young guards in the league, Phoenix Suns’ restricted free agent Eric Bledsoe still has not signed. The Suns initially offered Bledsoe a four-year, $48 million deal but Bledsoe is said to be seeking a five-year, max deal.

Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors has a hunch the Suns will up their offer for Bledsoe.

"Bledsoe’s not involved directly, by all accounts. He hasn’t been in Phoenix since the season ended, and he hasn’t talked to the team since then, either. It’s all going through agent Rich Paul. I know LeBron implored the Suns to “break bread,” but since LeBron is Paul’s client, it came off as a PR stunt. I think Phoenix would like to negotiate, and I think they’d come up at least a little from four years and $48MM. I think the Suns and Paul will revisit the issue and strike an 11th hour deal for the long-term, but that’s more of a hunch than anything else."

Although they have Goran Dragic and acquired Isaiah Thomas in the offseason, they have been adamant they can make a three point guard system work, provided they have Bledsoe back.

Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 47.7% from the field, 35.7% from beyond the arc and 77.2% from the free throw line last season. In his four-year NBA career, the 18th-overall pick in the first round of the 2010 NBA draft, has averaged 8.7 points, 3.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 44.5% from the floor, 32.7% from three and 75.8% from the charity stripe.
