The release time is expected to be around 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. Eastern.
iOS 8 will be compatible with previous versions of the iPhone, the iPad 2 and newer and the 5th Gen iPod Touch.
Once the update is available, you can make the changes directly on your phone or by plugging in to iTunes and updating from there. If the iOS 8 update is not available whenever you plug in to iTunes, make sure that your iTunes software is updated.
To download over the air, make sure you are connected to a WiFi network, go to Settings, find “Software Update” in the general section and click to download.
One of the biggest upgrades for iOS 8 is the addition of multi-tasking which has been a major plus for the larger screened Samsung we have seen in the past. The fact that Apple also unveiled a larger iPhone at the event last week will give the device the screen size it needs for the multi-tasking to work properly.
Also included in the update are features like QuickType, Handoff, HomeKit, and Healthkit.
