Although the talent is most certainly evident for running backs around the NFL, the league is undoubtedly a passing league these days. It is not uncommon to see nearly 10 quarterbacks throw for over 4,000 yards in a season, and about 20 throw for more than 3,000 yards.

Among the quarterbacks that throw the ball quite often is none other than Detroit Lions leader Matthew Stafford. Last season, Stafford threw for over 4,500 yards and 29 touchdowns.

In Week 1, Stafford continued his impressive output as he threw for 346 yards and two touchdowns to Calvin Johnson. The Lions ultimately won that game against the New York Giants 35-14, but faltered in Week 2 as they lost to the Carolina Panthers 24-7.

Speaking with Lions media today, Stafford noted that he and his team must score more points in order to win games.

Stafford and the Lions host the Green Bay Packers this weekend, and you can bet that the Lions will need to score a lot more than 7 points in order to beat Aaron Rodgers and the Packers team.
