The next generation of ownership is now officially in full swing, as the bid that was placed by Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula has been unanimously approved by the league’s finance committee, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Pegula recently won out in the sweepstakes for the team against the likes of Donald Trump and legendary rocker Jon Bon Jovi. Although, Bon Jovi never really stood much of a chance in the race, as he was part of a Toronto-based group that reportedly had the intention of moving the team north of the border. However, throughout the process, the popular opinion was that Pegula would indeed be the one to win out in the end.

And the best part for Bills fans is that their team is not going anywhere.

Now, this approval on Wednesday clears the way for the sale to head off to the league meetings next month, making it officially that this team now is run by the Pegula family. The official number that Pegula is paying for the franchise is $1.4 Billion.

After winning the bid earlier this month, Pegula released a brief statement on how excited he was, as well as expressing his gratitude toward the Wilson family, whom he will be taking over for.

"“Kim and I are humbled and honored that the Wilson family has chosen us to be the second owner of the Buffalo Bills. Pending the NFL approval process, being the next owner of the Buffalo Bills would be a great privilege for our family. Ralph Wilson left an indelible mark on our community and we will strive every day to honor his legacy."

Again, once this goes through the league meetings next month, then it will become completely official.
