Chicago Bears rookie cornerback Kyle Fuller had a breakout game in Week 2, with two interceptions in the team’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.

There was obviously some excitement from the fan base because of the flashes of brilliance from their young defensive back, and one of the team’s veteran leaders is also looking forward to what Fuller can do next.

Enter Charles Tillman.

Tillman, who had his season come to an end with a torn triceps, raved about the youngster and said that he believes there is some “greatness” ahead for the former Virginia Tech star.

I just see greatness. He had a hell of game, great coming out party. If anybody was happy for him, I was,” Tillman said, via the Chicago Tribune. “I think, too, though, we have a good defense. And my role right now is to help our defense out, not just Kyle Fuller. I think my overall role is to help out our team. That’s the point I want to really get across.”

With Tillman around for Fuller to learn from, you can’t ask for a better mentor.

Whether or not Fuller can build off of his hot start to the season remains to be seen, but he should now have the confidence and a willing mentor to guide him through his rookie season.

You can’t ask for much more than that.
