ESPN’s Zubin Mehenti trashes Jameis Winston & Jimbo Fisher, goes way too far

There’s no denying that Jameis Winston has made a string of poor decisions.

On Tuesday, news broke that Florida State Seminoles’ quarterback Jameis Winston was standing on a table and shouting obscenities at the student union. On Wednesday, the Seminoles officially suspended Winston for the first half of the top-ranked Seminoles showdown with the 22nd-ranked Clemson Tigers.

Whether it is having a BB Gun war with his teammates, allegedly stealing soda from a Burger King, taking about $30 worth of seafood from a local Publix, or his latest incident, Winston had made plenty of poor choices during his college career.

That has put the sports world in an uproar, attacking Winston from all angles. Although some have gone overboard, he certainly deserves to have his judgement questioned and should know that in this day and age anything someone as famous as the 2013 Heisman Trophy winner does will be put under a microscope.

That, however, doesn’t mean sports personalities should be trashing Winston and his coach, Jimbo Fisher and mocking the way they speak with possible racist overtones but that’s exactly what ESPN’s Zubin Mehenti did on ESPN’s Championship Drive podcast, which you can listen to here. In the podcast, Mehenti calls Winston “dumb,” a “moron,” “inarticulate” and a “criminal.”
