Chicago Cubs fan Steve Bartman etched his name into the lore of Major League Baseball when he leaned over the third base line wall in the outfield to catch a foul ball, preventing Cubs outfielder Moises Alou from making a catch. He is blamed universally for the Cubs losing Game 6 of the National League Championship Series, and eventually the series entirely.

Now his name has become synonymous with similar acts.

The St. Louis Cardinals are hosting the Milwaukee Brewers, and a foul ball was headed towards the wall. Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday was headed to the wall to try and make the catch when he fell victim to the old Bartman trick.

The kicker is that the fan who interfered and prevented Holliday from making the catch, and the out, was hearing a Holliday jersey.

At least it didn’t happen in Game 6 of the National League Championship series.
