Denver Nuggets’ forward Kenneth Faried is one of the game’s most exciting young players in the game and any team would love to have him. One playoff team, the Toronto Raptors, seems especially interested in The Manimal.

Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, who initially reported the Raptors’ interest in Faried, doesn’t believe the Nuggets will trade him.

"Last season before the trade deadline, I reported that the Raptors had contacted the Nuggets about a Kenneth Faried trade. This came from a league source, and I was told that Masai Ujiri was interested in acquiring Faried since he is the one who drafted him. With that said, I don’t know if Denver will be willing to move Faried. I think he has shown significant progress since then (and looked excellent with Team USA), so they may decide to hold onto him. Yes, that will mean that they have to give him a big payday, but I think he has shown that he’s worth it."

Faried is young and still developing so it doesn’t make sense for the Nuggets to deal him. They’d be better off trying to deal some of their veterans for young talent if they’re looking to deal.

Faried averaged 13.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks per game while shooting 54.5% from the free throw line last season. In his three-year career, the 22nd-overall pick of the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft has gone for 12.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists , 1.0 blocks and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 55.4% from the floor and 64.0% from the charity stripe.
