Mel Kiper Jr drops Jameis Winston to No. 25 on Draft Big Board

It’s been a rough year for Jameis Winston as everything he seems to touch or talk to ends up coming back to get him in trouble. Whether it’s something incredibly serious like the rape allegations that were brought against him in late 2013 or something seemingly trivial like shouting explicit sexual phrases on campus, Jameis Winston has officially replaced Johnny Manziel as the most polarizing  figure in college football.

There are still some who haven’t made up their minds about Winston as an NFL prospect but draft guru Mel Kiper Jr is punishing Winston in his own way by forcing him to free fall down the 2015 NFL Draft Big Board this week. Kiper previously had Winston at No. 3 on his big board behind Marcus Mariota and Leonard Williams but he has since dropped him to No. 25 in wake of everything that has happened recently.

There seems to be a lot of overreaction to Winston’s latest incident but there are justifiable problems with him as a talent in the NFL. He doesn’t seem to be plugged into the game the way others at his position are, as Winston is more concerned with being a college kid than a college quarterback.

That’s all fine and dandy if he wants to have no future in the NFL but there is work to be done if Winston wants to get back in the good graces of scouts and analysts.
