Berry sprained his ankle in the 24-17 loss to the Broncos early and has been unable to practice through the pain so he won’t be on the field as the Chiefs look to pick up their first win of the season and avoid an 0-3 start which would put serious damage to their hopes of a second straight playoff appearance.
With Berry out of the lineup, Kelcie McCray and Kurt Coleman will see increased playing time and it is possible Daniel Sorensen could be elevated to the 53-man roster.
In other injury news, the Chiefs rules out rookie running back/return man De’Anthony Thomas, Jamaal Charles practiced again on a limited basis and is listed as questionable with his sprained ankle and Tamba Hali is probably after another day of practicing on a limited basis with a knee/ankle ailment.
