Minnesota authorities stepping in on Adrian Peterson
The Minnesota Vikings, the National Football League, and Adrian Peterson can’t seem to catch a break lately. Adrian Peterson started everything off when he was indicted for child abuse after the way in which he disciplined his four-year old was exposed, now the state of Minnesota is stepping in.

While the news is certainly not good for Adrian Peterson, it also isn’t good for the Vikings, or the NFL, who are both trying to put the issue in the rear view mirror and move forward.
Roger Goodell delivered a press conference on Friday in light of the issues the league has recently experienced, and the goal was to learn from them, and put measures in place to make sure they don’t continue going forward.
Although what Adrian Peterson did was extreme, what the state of Minnesota is doing also seems similar in nature. Considering the backstory, this seems more like an attempt to drag out a sad situation, than it does to be genuine in its intent.
Peterson is the father of the young boy, but he is not there full time. The boy is normally in the presence of his mother. On top of this, the case is currently being reviewed in Texas where it took place. Minnesota stepping in seems like it may be doing so only because of the name recognition of Peterson in the state.
At any rate, the best case is for Peterson to learn from the situation going forward, and for the boy to be taken care of regardless who parents him.
