New York Mets rumors: Team could be interested in Michael Cuddyer?
By Hayden Kane
The New York Mets added a veteran outfielder to bolster their lineup this past off-season when they signed Curtis Granderson. Could they go that route again this winter with free-agent-to-be Michael Cuddyer?

Coming off a 2013 season in which he earned the National League batting title, Cuddyer has seen much of his 2014 season lost to injury. Still, the combination of his ability to hit power for when he is healthy and the leadership that he provides in the clubhouse will make him a sought-after player if he does not re-sign with the Colorado Rockies.
Cuddyer could be a good fit for the Mets, who will undoubtedly be an intriguing team next season with all of their young pitching. Furthermore, Cuddyer’s price could come down because of his recent injury issues.
Bill Madden of the New York Daily News writes the following:
"Michael Cuddyer, who is 35 and also missed most of this season with hamstring issues, could be a reasonable option in that he will probably have to settle for a one-year incentives-laden deal as a free agent. That would certainly put him in Alderson’s budget range — unlike Melky Cabrera, who will now likely fetch a three-year deal after his productive bounce-back season with the Blue Jays."
The Rockies appear to value Cuddyer quite a bit, making this less of a “buy low” situation than it might appear. Still, Cuddyer could be an interesting name to watch in free agency this winter if he gets there.
