Might the Chicago Bears be without top wide receiver Brandon Marshall this week?

More from Chicago Bears

If the story line sounds familiar that’s because Marshall, who has been dealing with a sore ankle was unlikely to suit up last Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. The Pro Bowl talent did end up taking the field (shocking many in the process) and while he was obviously limited, he still put up respectable numbers and was a favorite target of Jay Cutler.

Now Brandon Marshall and the Chicago Bears are dealing with the same situation after the wideout was said to be limited during Saturday’s practice.

If there’s a positive for Marshall and the Bears it’s that they don’t take the field until Monday night against the New York Jets, so the wide receiver will have an additional day of rest that he normally wouldn’t get. Will that be enough to get him on the field?

Obviously the Chicago Bears don’t want to push Brandon Marshall beyond his limits and if he’s not healthy enough to go, it’s likely he’ll sit. That said, given he took the field against the San Francisco 49ers there’s probably a good chance he’ll be able to do so against the New York Jets, even if his practice session was limited.

Still, something to keep an eye on as the Bears will obviously want to get Marshall healthy.
