DeSean Jackson is ‘very terrible blocker’ says Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden
By Bryan Rose
On Sunday afternoon, DeSean Jackson will return to his one-time stomping grounds as his former organization, the Philadelphia Eagles will play host to his current team, the Washington Redskins.

Of course, to make the story line even better, Jackson is nursing a shoulder injury and in most situations likely wouldn’t play. But letting his ego get the better of him, it’s expected the wide reciever will take the field and hopes to show Chip Kelly and company what they’re missing out on.
Granted, he still needs medical clearance and an okay from the Washington Redskins to play, namely head coach Jay Gruden who seems rather perturbed with Jackson’s desire to stick it to his former team.
Obviously Gruden wants DeSean Jackson on the field, but only if he’s healthy which lead to some rather interesting comments regarding his wide receiver.
“I think he’s gonna be a game-day type deal. He wants to go really bad — obviously he’s going back to Philly. But if he’s not 100 percent — if he’s 60-70 percent — he’s really not that good to us. I know, but he’s already 160 pounds,” Gruden said. “He’s already a very terrible blocker. We’ll see. I think he wants to play. He’s a tough guy. He is allowed to wear shoulder pads, so he might be all right.”
Gruden’s comments were somewhat in jest, though it seemed rather clear that he was trying to send DeSean Jackson a message in regards to him playing.
If you’re going to play, fine, but you best bring your best game.
