Week 3 is here and it’s time to get your fantasy lineup locked in and ready to go for the full slate of NFL games today.  There are some tricky elements to lineup-setting this morning with some important players coming into today as gametime decisions. As you put your finishing touches on your lineup, consider these last minute value options who I think will outperform their ranking or salary and produce despite not being viewed as stars.

More from Buffalo Bills

If you are playing in a one-week fantasy contest or any salary based format, it’s important to get some players who are inexpensive but still produce points at a high level.   They may not lead the week in scoring, but they should produce points and can be had at a lesser cost than options that I think could struggle. These players are in matchups to attack and should be able to produce given opportunity, form, and opponent. If you own them in season-long formats, they make nice starts for week 3.

Check out the following slides for my value plays at each position and a look at who I selected for week 2 as well

Quarterback

Jay Cutler-Chicago Bears: If you’re week includes Monday Night Football, a QB that I think can put up elite numbers at less-than elite pricing is Jay Cutler.  Cutler has started the season strong and lit up the 49ers for four TD’s last week as he led a furious Bears rally.  This week, he faces the Jets who are the team that has allowed the second-most points to opposing QB’s due to their patchwork secondary.  Cutler should be able to carve them up on Monday Night Football.

Russell Wilson-Seattle Seahawks: Another fringe QB1 who I think will be in the top ten this week is Russell Wilson.  Wilson and the Seahawks will have to pass more to keep up with the Broncos in their Super Bowl rematch and the Denver D has allowed the fourht-most points to their opposing QB’s so far this season.  Seattle will be at home where Wilson is almost always int he QB1 conversation.

Ryan Tannehill-Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins will also be at home which bodes well for Ryan Tannehill as he and the Dolphins take on the Chiefs. KC has allowed 240+ yards and multiple TD’s to opposing QB’s in each of their first two games so look for Tannehill to get the ball into the hands of his receivers often as the Dolphins look to improve to 2-0 at home on the young season.

E.J. Manuel-Buffalo Bills: I expect a bit of a letdown game for the Chargers as they go east to take on the Bills. Manuel has a new top receiving threat in Sammy Watkins and should be a decent low-range QB to start this week.  He has put up double-digit fantasy points in ESPN standard scoring in each of the first two weeks and will look to continue his strong start and keep the Bills undefeated.

Ryan Fitzpatrick-Houston Texans: Fitzpatrick continues to stay entirely off the radar but produce decent numbers as he leads Houston.  This week, the Texans take on the Giants who got torched by the Lions in week one and lost last week to the Cardinals without Carson Palmer. Fitzpatrick has been solid, but no spectacular this season and you can expect more of the same on Sunday. If you have to go cheap on a QB, he’s the best bargain basement option.

Last week: Nick Foles, Andy Dalton, Brian Hoyer, Ryan Fitzpatrick
