Since his impressive showing during the FIBA World Cup, Solvenian guard Zoran Dragic–younger brother of Goran–has been on the NBA radar, according to multiple reports. Teams that had been rumored to be interested included the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, Orlando Magic and the Indiana Pacers.

Not many mentioned the current employer of his older brother, the Phoenix Suns, as a possible landing spot. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Suns have indeed emerged as the favorite.

A two-Dragic NBA was one thing, but a two-Dragic Phoenix is a whole other level of awesome. Goran brooke out last season with the Suns and coach Jeff Hornacek. I’d imagine the idea here is that Hornacek could do similar work with Zoran, and that the brothers would have a certain chemistry in the backcourt.

The problem is that the Suns already have a ton of depth at the guard spot, with Goran, Isaiah Thomas, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Dionte Christmas, Tyler Ennis, Archie Goodwin and Gerald Green, not to mention that Eric Bledsoe still remains a restricted free agent.

An interesting scenario would be that the Suns sign Zoran, who impresses this season enough to allow the team to let Goran (who has a player option next season for $7.5 million and will likley want a raise) walk. Chances remain of Bledsoe not being on this team by the end of the season as well. So the Suns could go from Goran and Bledsoe to Zoran and Thomas within two seasons. But that’s just a thought.

Either way, pairing Zoran with Hornacek seems like a no-brainer.
