There is still a lot of action to go in Week 3 of the NFL season, however it will be hard to top the game that we just saw between the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Nick Foles, who took a beating in this game, finished the afternoon 28-of-42 with 325 yards and three touchdowns. In the fourth quarter with the game tied at 27, the third of Foles’ TD strikes, a 27-yarder to Jeremy Maclin, would be the one that would keep them on top for the rest of the game. They would add a field goal.
But, back to Foles taking a beating, things got really chippy in the second half when Foles was blindsided on a hit by the Redskins’ Chris Baker after what everyone thought was an interception. Afterwards, things got out of hand rather quickly.
Also a big storyline coming into this game was the return of DeSean Jackson to Philadelphia after he was cut by the team this past spring. And his outing, even with the loss, was a pretty successful one. Jackson caught five passes for 117 yards and a touchdown, which brought out the side of Jackson that people love to see, while others hate.
Speaking of the Redskins’ passing game, Kirk Cousins may have finally solidified the fact that he is the man in Washington now. In his first start of the season, the Michigan State product finished 30-of-48 for 427 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.
With the win, the Eagles now move to 3-0 on the season, while the Redskins drop to 1-2.
