The Chicago Bears have had to deal with lingering injuries for both of their star wide receivers so far this season. Brandon Marshall has been dealing with an ankle injury while Alshon Jeffery has been struggling to play through a hamstring injury.

With limited practice during the week and some grittiness from the players themselves, the Bears have been able to keep their offensive lineup in tact for the most part. That might be changing on Monday night, however, as Marshall was forced to exit the game with that same ankle injury.

The initial prognosis seemed positive, as Marshall was considered probable when he initially left the game.

Shortly thereafter, however, Marshall went into the locker room and was downgraded to questionable.

What is perhaps the most unfortunate thing about this injury is that it occurred on a running play for Jeffery in which Marshall was blocking. From the Bears’ perspective, a play that puts both of your star receivers at risk that involves neither of them running a pass pattern is not ideal, and in this case it resulted in Marshall getting hurt.
