It’s not very often that LeBron James will work out with a fellow NBA player who’s not his teammate, but Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul isn’t just any player.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Given that, James decided to hit up a court at UCLA on Sunday with the All-Star point guard where they worked on their games together. However, the biggest news may not have been the fact that LeBron James was working out with Chris Paul but rather Tristan Thompson decided to join them.

Thompson was set to see significant minutes with the Cleveland Cavaliers this season, though that was before the Cavs acquired Kevin Love in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now with Love on the roster, Tristan Thompson has been regulated to bench duty and it’s been suggested the Cleveland Cavaliers should seek a trade for the young forward given they’ve committed to moving forward with Kevin Love.

However, given the fact that Thompson has become so close with James this offseason, it seems as if that may reduce the chance of him being traded. The Cleveland Cavaliers do as LeBron James wishes and if he wants to keep Tristan Thompson around, you’d think the Cavs would listen.

Granted, that’s not to say James would put his friendship over winning and may actually be okay with Tristan Thompson eventually being traded, though it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.
