Adams is the nation’s No. 184 overall recruit, No. 17 defensive tackle and the No. 5 recruit in the Magnolia State, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The 6-3, 284-pound Adams picked the Bulldogs over offers from the Ole Miss Rebels, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs, among others.

His high school coach Brad Peterson spoke with 247Sports to talk about the type of player Mississippi State is getting in Adams.

“He has played extremely well and has a high motor that runs all the time,” said Peterson. “He plays a little bit of everything – defensive end, tackle and noseguard. We move him around a lot based on who we are playing and what they are doing. He is very flexible in what we do and has played extremely well up to this point.

Adams is the 28th player to commit to head coach Dan Mullen for the 2015 class that currently ranks as the No. 12 class in the nation and the No. 7 class in the SEC, according to the 247Sports team rankings.

He is the third highest-ranked commit for the class behind Jamal Adams and Malik Dear as Mississippi State has racked up on the in-state recruits with commitments from six of the top nine players in the state and 12 of the top 23.

Through four games this season, Adams has 54 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and three sacks. He had 111 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and eight sacks last year as a junior.
