Jay Cutler hits Martellus Bennett for TD, Bears lead 14-0 (Video)

The Chicago Bears willed their way to a win on Sunday Night Football last week and this week they’re trying to get to 2-1 with a win against the hapless New York Jets.

Put an emphasis on hapless as the Jets just can’t do anything right on Monday night. Geno Smith threw a pick-six in such quick fashion that it felt like ESPN was still doing pre-game work. After that mistake, the Jets had the Bears stopped on an offensive drive but fumbled away the punt deep in their own territory.
That led to a pass interference call — an admittedly questionable one — against the Jets that set up a Martellus Bennett touchdown.
That gave the Bears a 14-0 lead before the game really even started, and while New York got a field goal back on the next drive, the night has not gotten off to a good start. If the Bears want to win, it doesn’t seem like they have to try hard as the Jets seem incapable of getting out of their own way.
