The Dolphins were dominated once again on Sunday 34-15, 0-2 since their big week one win over the New England Patriots. It was the formerly winless Kansas City Chiefs that came in and dominated Miami without star player Jamaal Charles.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

According to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, defensive players were “beyond furious” and “irate” with the defensive scheme written up by defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle. Included was the team’s decision to use players like Cameron Wake and Jason Trusnik to cover running back Joe McKnight, who had two receiving touchdowns for the Chiefs.

The coaches probably have some of their own issues with the players. The Dolphins did not tackle well on Sunday as Knile Davis shrugged off attempts to bring him down several times on his way to 132 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Kansas City shredded the Dolphins defense for 174 yards rushing. Alex Smith completed a solid 76 percent of his attempts and threw three touchdown passes. The Chiefs scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to close out the game.

“I don’t think we tackled well enough,” Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin told Beasley. “We have to do better. … I don’t think any phase played well enough to win.”

The 1-2 Dolphins now find themselves in last place in the AFC East. They’ve scored just 13 points in the first half this year as RyanTannehill has struggled to a 56.5 completion percentage, a 74.1 passer rating and 5.0 yards per attempt.

The Dolphins will now pack up their struggles and play the 0-3 Oakland Raiders in London next Sunday.
