Virtually all of the attention last weekend during the college football Saturday was focused primarily on Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, who was suspended for the team’s win over Clemson at home on Saturday night.

Throughout the past year,Winston has virtually owned college football media, however head coach Jimbo Fisher is going to try an scale that back a bit, by scaling back Winston’s availability to members of the media.

On Tuesday we have learned that Winston will no longer be available to the media during the middle of the week. The only time that the media will get to talk to Winston will be after the games.

When asked about the decision, Fisher cited academics as the reasoning.

This could be looked at as both a good move and a bad one.

On one hand, Florida State looks as if they’re being stingy with the media, which will not help their cause in some cases when it comes to positive headlines. We’ve all seen a lot of cases where beat reporters don’t take kindly to not being allowed access to the biggest star of the team they cover.

But on the other hand, Winston does need to be away from the media, because as we learned at his press conference last week when his original suspension of a half game was announced, all of the questions during the week will most likely focus on the negative, rather than the positive.
