Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston has had his fair share of dopey moments at the school, but he’s had a few massively serious ones as well. Perhaps no issue was greater than when rape allegations were brought against the Heisman winner late in 2013.

Winston was eventually absolved of the charges that could have ruined his career, but his accuser is not going away.

According to TMZ, Winston’s lawyer is claiming that Carroll demanded $7 million to back off with the rape allegations brought up last year.

"According to the letter — obtained by TMZ — the alleged victim’s lawyer, Patricia Carroll, demanded $7 MIL to settle her client’s claims against FSU and Winston, telling Cornwell, “If we settle, you will never hear from my client or me again — in the press or anywhere.”"

Winston’s lawyer penned the letter to the university to ensure that whatever is still being looked into is done so in a proper manner. Bringing up the extortion allegation is a clear attack on the accusers credibility and a way for Winston’s legal team to further push back at Carrol and brush off Winston’s name in the process.

In the meantime, Winston will have to stop doing stupid things that make him look like an idiot. From stealing crab legs to not paying for soda at Burger King and yelling sexually explicit phrases on campus, it’s no wonder Winston still hasn’t won over any new fans despite being mostly cleared of the charges Carroll brought against him in 2013.
