One of the more interesting things to emerge from the NBA’s media day was an apparent shot that Miami Heat point guard took at LeBron James, who left the Heat this offseason to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Chalmers, according to multiple reporters, refused to call James by his name.

However, it turns out, that’s not true, according to Chalmers.

Chalmers certainly could have called James “that guy,” but is simply denying it to avoid the controversy that comes with him taking a shot at James.

It’s hard to envision a scenario where just about every reporter on the scene misheard Chalmers.

Regardless, as Chalmers hints at in his denial, it’s time for the Heat to move on from LeBron and focus on their current team.

With LeBron gone, Chalmers has added responsibilities and the Heat really need an effective season from him if it’s to remain one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference.

Chalmers averaged 9.8 points and 4.9 assists per game last season.
