At this point in Mike Trout’s career, he almost has to do crazy things on the diamond to impress us, because we’ve become to used to nothing short of excellence in the young Los Angeles Angels center fielder’s career. A catch he made last night against the Seattle Mariners was just that type of insane awesomeness we crave from Trout.

Seattle is fighting for a chance at the postseason, but LA had little to play for last night, with the Angels having already locked up both the AL West championship and the best record in the American League, ensuring home-field advantage in the playoffs. But sometimes Trout apparently just can’t help himself, and with the Mariners leading 4-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Trout caught a screaming liner off the bat of Kendrys Morales without looking at the ball:

Trout also hit a solo home run in the loss, but don’t feel too bad for Seattle, as the Mariners were able to stay alive in the postseason hunt by winning, 4-3, but MLB should probably just start compiling all of Trout’s insane catches into an inevitable highlight reel. I know I’d pay $10 for that Blu-Ray.
