A lot is happening in the World of Wond–the Rorld of Rond… the World of Rajon Rondo this summer. Between trade rumors, contract talks and a broken hand, the only thing that seems healthy right now might be his relationship with the Boston Celtics.

More from Boston Celtics

According to an Associated Press report, Rondo told reporters on media day that he’s not looking to go anywhere.

"Entering the final season of his contract, the only star on the rebuilding team had a simple answer Monday when asked if he wants to stick around beyond that: “Yes,” he said."

Meanwhile, it seems the Celtics organization has already tried to lock him up.

"President of basketball operations Danny Ainge said at the Celtics’ media day that he has tried to sign Rondo to an extension, but the collective bargaining agreement makes it in Rondo’s financial interests to wait."

The point guard is expected to miss the first two weeks of the season, and his recovery could stretch beyond that.  Facing questions of how he broke his hand, Rondo reportedly joked “Am I under investigation?” It at least takes the focus of his contract and trade situation. Rondo is the subject of many trade rumors and, despite this report, will most likely remain a favorite on ESPN’s NBA Trade Machine.

Recovering from knee surgery, Rondo missed the first 40 games of last season. He was ready to go for the upcoming season until Thursday.

Head coach Brad Stevens took over a rebuilding team and was 25-57 last season. He and Rondo reportedly have a good relationship.
