When the Houston Rockets signed Jeremy Lin away from the New York Knicks, they expected to get the player who shined brightly in the Big Apple.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Alas, that’s not what the Houston Rockets received though Jeremy Lin was still very talented during his time with the Houston Rockets. Perhaps looking for more of a star player, Rockets general manager traded Jeremy Lin to the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason where many expect him to thrive.

Will he return to his former glory that he saw with the New York Knicks though? Not according to Steve Kyler who thinks Jeremy Lin will be more of the player we all saw during his tenure with the Houston Rockets.

"I think it was an arbitration what happened in New York. Who he is as a player, is closer to what he was in Houston."

While Jeremy Lin isn’t likely the player we saw as a member of the Knicks, it’s possible he could be better than the player we saw with the Rockets. In Houston, Lin didn’t much of an opportunity to play towards his strengths which include pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop.

Now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, Lin should have plenty of opportunities to use that facet of his game thanks to players like Carlos Boozer.

How well he’ll play remains to be seen though some believe he’ll be named a first time All-Star this season.
