Report: John Harbaugh not interested leaving Baltimore Ravens

The Michigan Wolverines are in a bad place right now, as they were blown out by the Minnesota Gophers over the weekend and are now sitting with a losing record in the Big 10. That’s not how you win titles in Ann Arbor and it’s also not how you keep your job either.

Even before the game was over, the fans in The Big House were chanting for Brady Hoke to be fired, and that has spurred rumors about NFL coaches taking over his job. Specifically, the Harbaugh brothers, Jim and John, have been at the top of many lists mentioned so far.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the elder John Harbaugh isn’t going to be looking into the job at Michigan for a number of different reasons.

"The source said there are multiple reasons why John Harbaugh wouldn’t be inclined to go after the job beyond his friendship and loyalty to Hoke. A big reason is that Harbaugh is content as coach of the Ravens (3-1), with whom he won Super Bowl XLVII just two seasons ago over Jim Harbaugh’s 49ers."

Leaving the Ravens, even after the Ray Rice mess, doesn’t seem like a good move for Harbaugh. Even if he lost his job in Baltimore, he’s NFL royalty to the point where he’d get another head coaching job that same offseason. Someone would hire Harbaugh and while Michigan isn’t a bad job to take, Harbaugh has coached his way into lining up better ones for himself in the pros.
