Boston Celtics’ point guard Rajon Rondo has gotten a lot of attention because of his reported request for a trade (that his camp has since denied) but lately all of the talk has surrounded his left metacarpal fracture that will keep him out 6-8 weeks. There have been rumors that Rondo was injured on a trampoline but during Celtics’ media day, he told reporters he slipped in the shower.

“Usually how certain falls happen, you slip,” Rondo told Jessica Camerato of Basketball Insiders. “I slipped and tried to catch my hand. It wasn’t like a banana slip. Actually, I almost caught myself, landed on my knuckle in the windowsill in my home.”

Rondo admitted that he jumped on a trampoline on Tuesday but says he didn’t on Thursday.

“I did jump,” he said. “I learned some new tricks with my daughter. We had a lot of fun.”

“I didn’t jump that day. I just let my kids play, run off some steam. It was a school night so I wanted to go about 45 minutes. People were really nice there, they let me in for free, so that was good. That night I went home and that’s when the incident happened. So it didn’t happen at all at the trampoline place.”

No matter what the reason is for Rondo’s injury, the Celtics and basketball fans alike are just hoping he gets back on the court as soon as possible.
