It’s been said that Amare Stoudemire looks to be in great shape and for the first time in a while is truly healthy.

You’d think the New York Knicks might want to keep things that way, though in the final year of his contract it seems as if the Knicks will ride Amare Stoudemire until his

legs

wheels fall off.

Speaking to the New York Post, the Knicks forward said he’s been in discussions with head coach Derek Fisher and it’s expected that he’ll play somewhere between 30 and 35 minutes this season.

“We got to 30, 35 minutes,’’ Stoudemire said. “I’m sure Coach Fisher and I will figure out something [that is] going to be beneficial for both of us. Having the year I had last year was positive. Building up strength, hopefully allows me to play more this season.’’

Shockingly enough, Amare did average 32 minutes a game last season though only played in 65 contests and could be seen having issues with his knees at times. Still, if Amare Stoudemire is comfortable being on the court that often, there’s no reason for the New York Knicks not to use him as he still put up numbers offensively despite his injury woes.

Hopefully Amare will shock the world and will be able to play the minutes he’s hoping for without injury, though it seems like a tough bet. The big man will be a free agent at season end.
