Beckham was the No. 12 overall pick in this year’s draft after a junior campaign with the LSU Tigers that saw the explosive receiver top 1,000 yards and win the Paul Hornung Award as the nation’s most versatile player.
Eli Manning and the Giants have looked great the last two weeks after a porous preseason and a dismal first two games of the 2-14 season, so the addition of Beckham, even on a limited basis on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, could do wonders for their offense.
Beckham returned to practice on a limited basis last week and is expected to participate in full this week, but Giants head coach Tom Coughlin tells ESPNNewYork.com he wants to see more in practice before he feels confident in saying he will play.
“He has to practice, he has to practice repetitive days, he has to be able to show us that he’s not only strong enough but can endure day after day. So there’s some room here to make some progress and impress everybody.”
The signs are positive that Beckham will be in the lineup on Sunday but considering he has already had at least one setback in his recovery, you can understand his hesitation, but all signs are pointing toward Beckham likely making his debut vs the Falcons.
