Lil’ Jon gives a shout out to Tennessee Football program ahead of Florida game

This season the Tennessee Football program started doing something rather unique. On every third down inside Neyland Stadium, the song from rapper Lil’ Jon, “Turn Down for What,” blares over the loud speaker and the crowd sings along.

Although, as you might have guessed if you didn’t know already, instead of singing the actual lyrics, the crowd, in unison, chants “Third Down for What!”
Does it make any sort of sense, aside from the fact that it’s a pretty neat pop culture reference being implemented into a college football game? Well, not really, but they seem to enjoy it.
Well you had to figure that it would only be a matter of time before Lil’ Jon himself caught wind of the craze in Knoxville, and that he did.
Now while some would expect him to maybe be a little upset over some copyright issues of some sort, because we know musicians love to do that, he’s joining in on the fun.
Ahead of their huge game this weekend against the Florida Gators, Lil’ Jon actually went out of his way to go on his twitter account and send a little message to Butch Jones and the rest of the Volunteers program.
Now there’s some motivation to have before one of the biggest games of the SEC season.
