The New England Patriots could make a run at Arizona Cardinals’ WR Larry Fitzgerald

The New England Patriots are a mess right now.

More from Arizona Cardinals

The Patriots’ lack of weapons has become a giant issue for the second straight season. Tom Brady doesn’t seem to trust anyone outside of Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski and they have no one to stretch defenses down the field. Their offensive line has really struggled and when Tom Brady does have time to throw, he hasn’t looked anything like the player he once was.

Many believe the Patriots could be in the market for a wide receiver and they have been connected to Arizona Cardinals’ star Larry Fitzgerald for the last two years. The Cardinals obviously would like to keep Larry Fitzgerlad but he has $23.6 million salary cap number for the 2015 season and they clearly have to do something about that.

The recent play of the Patriots has once again led to speculation they could deal for Larry Fitzgerald.

Obviously, the Patriots would love to have Larry Fitzgerald but with their track record for spending money (well, not spending money), it seems like a long-shot at best. However, if they could pull off a deal, it could be the key to turning their season around.

Larry Fitzgerald has just 10 catches for 107 yards and non touchdowns this season but his Cardinals are 3-0.

In his 11-year career, the third-overall pick in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft has made 856 catches for 11,474 yards and 87 touchdowns. The former Pittsburgh Panthers’ star has never played for another team. Fitzgerald signed a $113-million contract, which included a $10 million signing bonus and $27 million in guaranteed money, back in 2011.
