New York Knicks’ guard Iman Shumpert is one of the most talked about players in the league. Many believe he has a lot of potential and he is seemingly always at the center of trade rumors despite not being very productive in his short NBA career.

That could change this season.

Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors believes the triangle will showcase Shumpert’s skills.

"I think the triangle will help showcase his skills because he’s an off guard who can pass. Everyone has to pass well in the triangle, and Shump can do that. The Knicks seem to be hedging their bets, though, since it doesn’t sound like they’re planning to do an extension, and his name persisted in trade rumors this summer. We did a poll and most readers said they thought the Knicks would trade Shump before the deadline, but I think he’ll play well, they’ll hold on to him, and they’ll look to re-sign him this summer."

Shumpert is obviously a talent but to get to the next level, he will need to become a better shooter and help the Knicks spread the floor.

Shumpert put up 6.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 37.8% from the field, 33.3% from beyond the arc and 74.6% from the free throw line last season. In his three-year career, the 17th-overall pick in the first round has put up 7.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 39.1% from the floor, 34.2% from three and 77.5% from beyond the arc.
