The Philadelphia 76ers made some moves this offseason and one of those moves involved the acquisition of guard Alexey Shved from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Some thought that the 76ers were going to jettison Svhed right away but the team ended up keeping him. Now they may end up plying him at point guard, which is a very real possibility entering the season.

According to Tom Moore of The Intelligencer, Brett Brown is interested in seeing Alexey Sved play point guard this year for the 76ers.

"(Sixers Coach Brett) Brown said he is trying Russian Alexey Shved, who was acquired in the Thaddeus Young trade, at point guard and wants to continue taking a look at Shved there. The 6-foot-6 Shved spent a lot of time at shooting guard with the Timberwolves."

Shved was in the shadow of Ricky Rubio in Minnesota, but he will be trying to earn minutes behind Michael Carter-Williams in Philly. There’s a good chance that happens though as it sounds like Brown is on board with Shved getting minutes at the point.
