There are going to be two excellent point guards available in 2015 – Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics and Goran Dragić of the Phoenix Suns.

More from Boston Celtics

Because they will be free agents after the season, Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders believes Dragić and Rondo could be dealt this year.

"I’m someone who really believes that a team should trade a player on an expiring contract rather than risk losing that player in free agency, so guys like Rajon Rondo, Goran Dragic, Paul Millsap and Thaddeus Young are the first potential trade targets that come to mind. All of those players could hit unrestricted free agency next offseason, so if their respective teams don’t feel like they can re-sign them, it’s very possible that they’ll be shopped."

Rondo seems like the more likely player to be traded but the Suns’ back court is absolutely loaded with Dragić, Eric Bledsoe, Isaiah Thomas and Tyler Ennis so it wouldn’t be a complete shocker to see Dragić dealt.

Last season, Rondo averaged 11.7 points, 9.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 40.3% from the field, 28.9% from beyond the arc and 62.7% from the free throw line. Rondo has averaged 11.1 points, 8.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 47.5% from the floor, 25.2% from three and 62.1% from the free throw line in his eight-year NBA career.

Dragić put up 20.3 points, 5.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 50.5% from the floor, 40.8% from three and 76.0% from the charity stripe last season. In his six-year career, Dragić has gone for 11.5 points, 4.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 46.1% from the floor, 36.5% from three and 74.7% from the foul line.
