San Francisco 49ers vs Kansas City Chiefs
Both coming off impressive wins in Week 4, the Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) and San Francisco 49ers (2-2) will battle it out at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California to find out which .500 team can keep riding the wave of momentum. As for drama, it’s the first regular-season matchup between Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith and his former team. This will be a fun one.

Keys to Victory
Both of these teams are pretty similar. They each have top-12 defenses, running games that rank in the top seven and passing games that rank in the bottom half. Basically, this figures to be a grind it out game. The biggest difference? The Chiefs have sacked opposing quarterbacks 12 times this season, good for second best in the league, while the 49ers have just five sacks against opposing passers. Kansas City is led by fourth-year linebacker Justin Houston, who has as many sacks as the entire Niners defense this season. San Francisco will need to find a way to slow him down.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: SF -6

Prediction
When in doubt, if the better quarterback is at home, go with him. The Chiefs may be among the best teams in the league at rushing the passer, but they have yet to face a quarterback as mobile as Colin Kaepernick this season (they played Jake Locker, Peyton Manning, Ryan Tannehill and Tom Brady). In what is likely a close game, Kaepernick will make a couple of big plays to get the 49ets over the top.
Final Score: San Francisco 28, Kansas City 24
