They hired Phil Jackson as team president and he tabbed his former player, Derek Fisher as head coach. The team also met their biggest goal by re-signing Carmelo Anthony. Jackson and Fisher will make Carmelo Anthony the focal point of their triangle offense.

Carmelo Anthony is quite pleased because he believes there will be less pressure on him.

“It will be less pressure on me,” Anthony told Al Iannazzone of New York News Day. “I can see that now in training camp. I feel that. I can see what we’re able to do with the little bit of time we’ve been together this week. I see other guys’ roles and how they’re implemented into the system and what they’re capable of doing. I think it’ll be easier. It’s still going to be a dogfight, but I think it’ll be a little bit easier where everybody is not keying in and focusing on me every single time down the court.”

Carmelo Anthony put up 27.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game and shot 45.2% from the field, 40.2% from beyond the arc and 84.8% from the free throw line last season. Carmelo Anthony has gone for 25.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 45.5% from the floor, 34.5% from beyond the arc and 81.1% from the charity stripe in his career.
