Hunter Pence sprinted back to the wall and made an incredible catch in Game 4 of the NLDS.

The San Francisco Giants are hunting a series-clinching victory on Tuesday night in the NLDS against the Washington Nationals. Clinging to a 2-1 lead in the 6th inning, the Giants got a big defensive play from one of their emotional leaders.

When Hunter Pence isn’t giving incredible speeches to fire up his teammates or the home crowd, he’s playing a pretty good brand of baseball in right field for the Giants. A bit strange? Sure. Unconventional? You bet. But Pence gets the job done.

Say what you will, but Pence plays hard and he plays well, even if it’s not always aesthetically pleasing. Look no further than this catch as he robbed Jayson Werth of extra bases in Game 4:

That’s a hard fall, but you can bet Pence doesn’t care. Knowing Pence, he probably didn’t even feel it as he hit the ground after making this catch.

Pence had an animated conversation with center fielder Gregor Blanco after this catch. If ever there was a missed opportunity for FOX Sports 1, it was in that moment. Hunter Pence mic’ed up, after a catch like that one = ratings gold.
