Philadelphia Eagles’ running back Darren Sproles left the Eagles’ game against the New York Giants with a possible MCL injury

More from NFL

Philadelphia Eagles running back and punt returner Darren Sproles left tonight’s game against the New York Giants right before the end of the third quarter with an undisclosed injury. His loss could mean double trouble for the Eagles.

Sproles went down and appeared to be holding his knee. He was attended to on the field while sitting up for several minutes before he went walking off on his own power. Everything appeared to initially be alright. That was until NBC cameras followed him walking back to the locker room prior to the end of the third quarter.

Prior to the injury, Sproles had seven carries for 39 yards and a touchdown. He scored Philadelphia’s third quarter touchdown on a 15-yard run. Sproles also had four punt returns for a total of 57 yards this evening. You can see his touchdown below.

The initial injury report provided was that the Eagles medical staff are looking at his MCL. That could mean bad news for Sproles and Eagles. His evening, at best, appears to be over.
