New and unique Portland Trail Blazers center Chris Kaman will be the star of a reality web series that looks like a cross between Jackass and Duck Dynasty.

If you’ve ever been to Portland–or just watched “Portlandia”–you know that it tends to attract, uh, unique kinds of people. I guess it was only a matter of time until center Chris Kaman found his way to great Northwest. It’s also the perfect location for Kaman to do some deep-sea fishing, fire guns, set off fireworks and race four wheelers all in a way that toes the line of fun and legal.

That’s exactly what “Exloring Kaman” does and, as Joe Freeman of The Oregonian writes, it should be a wild.

"Welcome to “Exploring Kaman,” a new reality web series that chronicles the off-the-court exploits of the Trail Blazers’ unique new backup center. The six-part series, which is scheduled to begin Oct. 17, will air on exploringkaman.com."

The site has already released a trailer with some snippets of what to expect, including Kaman picking his nose.

While this won’t be available on your television, you’ll beab able to check out the series on exloringkaman.com this month. It should be worth a watch, but I’m not sure I’ll be scheduling my weeks around it. My question is: why is this happening? I’m not sure anyone, including Kaman himself, can answer that.

He certainly does things differently, as evidenced from this trailer and the fact that he left Los Angeles to pursue show biz in Portland. He certainly is a trail blazer.
