Green Bay Packers get swagger back with last-second victory
By Cory Buck
The Green Bay Packers have been able to get a little of their swagger back as of late
The Green Bay Packers were seconds away from losing in Miami yet again. but late-game heroics by Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense vaulted the team to 4-2 with a touchdown pass from Rodgers to Andrew Quarless with three seconds left to give the team a 27-24 victory. The win not only keeps the Packers even with the Detroit Lions in the NFC North, it gives the team confidence that they can come back again in late-game situations.

“That play (Quarless’ TD) helps out this team a lot more than I think anyone outside would think,” tackle David Bakhtiari said per the Wisconsin Journal-Sentinel. “Confidence. Unwillingness to quit. Grit. The fact we know we can do it. It’ll always be in the back of our minds. If we ever get into a situation where this happens to us, we’ve been there before.”
Nose tackle Letroy Guion agreed. “You get the feeling that Aaron is going to do something special. He’s a special guy. That’s big-time football there at the end.”
The Packers took the ball with 50 seconds left, down 24-20, against a Dolphins defense that had terrorized them all day after the Packers had scored on their first drive of the game. A few nice passes, and a little trickery familiar to Dolphins fans in the form of a Rodgers fake-spike, put the Packers deep in Miami territory where Rodgers would make the touchdown pass with seconds left.
“If you ask me to take that back 10 times out of 10, I would have taken it,” Miami defensive Cameron Wake said after the game. “One stop, no timeouts, 50 yards. That’s got to be something we close out.”
Instead it was the Packers who closed the game out, lending the team confidence as they embark on a stretch that will see the team mostly play at home.
