For the last two weeks, the world of college football has revolved around the state of Mississippi. The Mississippi State Bulldogs defeated the then sixth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies 48-31 then, took down the second-ranked Auburn Tigers 38-23. The Ole Miss Rebels have been equally impressive, taking down the third-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide 23-17 and Texas A&M 35-20.

When the polls came out Sunday, Mississippi State was ranked No. 1 and Ole Miss was No. 3. The two rivals will meet in what could be the biggest Mississippi State-Ole Miss game of all-time in the Egg Bowl on November 29.

According to Billy Watkins of The Clarion-Ledger, ticket prices to the Egg Bowl have skyrocketed.

"Another successful week for No. 1 Mississippi State and No. 3 Ole Miss created another rise in ticket prices for the Nov. 29 Egg Bowl in Oxford.StubHub, an online supplier, lists its cheapest ticket at $294.99 — and that doesn’t even get you a seat. It’s standing room only. The cheapest seat is $345.01, located in the north end zone, Section 102, row 26.A 50-yard line seat will cost you much more. Tickets in Section O, located on the visitor’s side, range from $645.75 to $6,600.54 — the highest-priced seat offered."

That’s a huge difference from what they were last week (you could get in for $104) and they were obviously much cheaper prior to the start of the season.

This week, Ole Miss will hot the Tennessee Volunteers (7:00 PM EST, SEC Network) while Mississippi State will enjoy a bye week.
