The Dallas Cowboys have shocked many on the NFL landscape en route to a 5-1 start and a huge win over the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on the road. While the Cowboys’ offense always had the weapons and simply just needed to live up to expectations, the defense has been a surprising strength of the Cowboys.

“They’re fast, they’re aggressive and they’re starting to make a name for themselves,” quarterback Tony Romo said, via the Dallas Morning News. “I’m excited about that. It gives us a chance to win every week.”

The Cowboys defense held the Seahawks to just 206 yards on offense. They held the Seahawks to 5-of-13 on third down conversions. Quarterback Russell Wilson was limited with a 50 percent completion percentage, averaging 4.5 yards per carry and being sacked twice.

The Cowboys also came up with a huge game-ending interception.

“I think we’re a little better ballclub,” Romo said. “Our team now understands that we do a lot of things pretty well. I think we have the ability to kind of impose [ourselves] sometimes on other teams.”

The Seahawks game was a huge test and the Cowboys almost passed with flying colors, save for shooting themselves in the foot on special teams and a miscommunication on a snap.
