San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick retweeted people who believe he shouldn’t be fined for an alleged ‘racial slur’ he says he did not commit.

You may recall that during the San Francisco 49ers‘ Week 2 loss to the Chicago Bears, quarterback Colin Kaepernick was penalized and eventually fined for what the NFL called a ‘racial slur’.

The player whom the referee alleged was targeted with such stated he didn’t hear Colin Kaepernick utter any racial slur though about a week later changed his story. The San Francisco 49ers signal caller wasn’t happy with the fine however and protested with the league who on Wednesday decided to reduce his fine in half considering they could find no proof of a racial slur.

So the question begs – why was he still fined if there was no abuse on Kaepernick’s part? It’s a question many are pondering including the quarterback himself who retweeted over 70 people on Twitter who suggested he should not be fined.

The NFL has yet to provide an explanation as to why they’ve decided to maintain Kaepernick’s fine despite reducing it in half. There’s also no word on if Colin Kaepernick will continue with his protest or will simply give up the ghost and pay the remainder of money due.

He did however let his feelings be known on the subject with an Instagram post which seems to suggest he may just give the NFL the cash they’ve requested to get rid of the problem.

Certainly would be nice of the NFL to clear the whole situation up and address why they’re still handing out the fine. Perhaps they have a very good reason, though until they actually provide such, they look as if they have egg on their face.
