Andray Blatche may not be a member of the Nets right now, but he has aspirations to someday return back to Brooklyn.

More from Brooklyn Nets

Andray Blatche won’t start the 2014 season in the NBA, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t intend to one day return. The Brooklyn Nets and every other NBA team opted to pass on Blatche due to his tendency to be lazy on the defensive end, as well as off the court issues that even forced Blatche to miss four games last season due to “personal reasons.”

Nobody is knocking the effectiveness and sheer talent of Blatche’s game, but those two aforementioned issues aren’t traits that will fit in well with Nets new coach Lionel Hollins, or any NBA coach. Blatche had an effective season last year averaging 11.2 points and 5.3 rebounds in 22 minutes per contest. Blatche isn’t a Net anymore, but apparently his heart is still with the Nets.

When Blatche was a free agent he would post pictures all the time on his Instagram page of himself wearing Brooklyn Nets gear and apparently he hasn’t forgotten what the Nets did for him two years ago after Blatche was amnestied by the Washington Wizards due to his lack of effort and off the court problems.

Nets coach Avery Johnson and general manager Billy King brought Blatche to the team, giving him a second chance in the NBA. Blatche paid them back by becoming a highly productive bench player who was a big part of their team.

As Blatche moves on into the next chapter of his career it is nice to know that he hasn’t forgotten about the team that believed in his ability and believed that he could turn his life around. Blatche is hoping for a return, maybe the Nets can give him another chance to wear the black and white sometime in the future.
