After yet another cheap shot to Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers’ head coach Doc Rivers told reporters Blake Griffin gets more cheap shots than anyone

More from Los Angeles Clippers

Los Angeles Clippers’ power forward Blake Griffin took another hard foul in the Clippers’ preseason game against the Utah Jazz Saturday night.

Jazz big man Trevor Booker hit Blake Griffin with a hard foul on a fast break during the third quarter. After the play, Blake Griffin grabbed Trevor Booker by the back of the head. Teammates soon arrived and broke up the altercation before anything serious could happen.

According to The Orange County Register, Clippers’ head coach Doc Rivers believes Blake Griffin takes more cheap shots than anyone and he doesn’t believe it is close.

"Griffin admitted to trying to figure out what to do with the extra contact he takes. Following the Clippers win, Doc Rivers said he thought Griffin gets hit with more cheap shots than anyone in the league.“I don’t think it’s close,” Rivers said."

It is easy to see why Blake Griffin would grow so frustrated – he does take more hard fouls than anyone in the league. However, he’s going to have to do a better job of keeping his school, especially once the postseason beings.

Last season, Blake Griffin averaged 24.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 52.8% from the field, 27.3% from beyond the arc and 71.5% from the charity stripe. In his four-year career, the number one overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft has put up 21.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 52.8% from the floor, 23.2% from three and 64.2% from the charity stripe.
