New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz suffered a horrific injury against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The day after the injury though, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly stopped by to visit Cruz in the hospital.
From New York Daily News:
"The morning after Victor Cruz ruptured his right patellar tendon, ending his season and throwing his career in doubt, the Paterson product received an unexpected visitor at Jefferson Hospital in Philly. In strolled Eagles coach Chip Kelly, just hours after his team had thrashed the Giants, 27-0, on Sunday. That Kelly took the time to visit an opposing player after a game speaks volumes not only about the coach’s sense of compassion but also to Cruz’s magnetism and status in the league."
With the NFL receiving so much negative publicity lately, and rightfully so, it is important to remember that there are a lot of people in the NFL and there are some great people.
This was a great display of sportsmanship and respect between two competitors. When Cruz went down, players from both teams kneeled around him, another show of respect between two rivals.
